Frequently asked questions
No, VeriPlayers are experienced business professionals, and unlike our competitors, we don’t hire actors, although if you starred in a school play as a kid, we won’t hold it against you! What matters is your ability to communicate naturally, read situations, and provide honest feedback.
We design VeriPlayer work to fit around experienced professionals’ existing commitments. You are not expected to block out fixed days each week or commit to rigid schedules.
That said, sessions take place during normal business hours because they are simulating real senior commercial conversations. You’ll need to be available during the working day for calls to be scheduled.
We handle the logistics for you. A dedicated VeriPlayer Coordinator manages bookings, changes and any issues, so you’re not chasing calendars or dealing with admin. You simply confirm your availability and focus on delivering a great session.
Yes. You are never “thrown in cold”. Before you take part in any session, you’ll receive a clear briefing on:
- The scenario and the role you’re playing
- The commercial context and objectives
- The level of challenge and realism we’re aiming for
- How the session is structured and how feedback works
We’re not trying to turn you into an actor. We’re relying on your real experience. The guidance is there to make sure you understand the purpose of the exercise and can play your role in a way that is both realistic and constructive.
Over time, most VeriPlayers find they develop their own rhythm and style within the framework.
It’s intentionally demanding, but in a professional, adult way. You’ll be simulating senior, high-stakes commercial conversations with people who are stretching themselves. The role is to be:
- Credible
- Commercially sharp
- Challenging when appropriate
- And realistic at all times
You’re not there to “catch people out” or to perform. You’re there to behave like a serious buyer, investor, or stakeholder would in the real world.
Most VeriPlayers find the work stimulating rather than stressful. It’s a chance to use your judgement, experience and instincts — not to memorise scripts or perform theatrics.
If anything, the bar is high because the work is meant to be real.
